Hear from alumni of 43North, the 76West Clean Energy Competition, Grow-NY, the FuzeHub Commercialization Competition, and other programs. They’ll share what made them successful, how they leveraged New York State resources and technical assistance, and what’s next.

Commercialization Competition

As part of the Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund, FuzeHub holds an annual Commercialization Competition. Companies throughout New York State compete to demonstrate the commercialization potential of their technology or product. This competition is intended to help small and medium (SME) size manufacturing and technology companies further develop their prototype in an effort to pursue additional investment and customers as well as strengthen their “go-to-market” strategies, as they move from new product/production method to marketplace.

Chobani is a leader in Greek yogurt, but this innovative food manufacturer is also a go-to partner for New York State’s dairy industry. Neil Sandfort, Chobani’s Chief Innovation Officer, will share how this high-growth company takes products from delicious ideas to supermarket shelves. He’ll also explain how sourcing local ingredients (in this case, milk) enabled Chobani to thrive and not just survive the pandemic. Neil comes from a family of dairy farmers and is helping Chobani to stay connected to its strong NYS roots.

The Intersection of Technology and Environmental Data that is Supporting Offshore Wind Development

Is your technology applicable to the growth of renewable energy deployment? This panel will focus on the work required to attain New York’s Nation Leading Climate Act Goals for 100% renewable energy by 2040 and take a specific deep dive into the emerging $100 Billion offshore wind industry. As rampant growth occurs to drive implementation of the Federal goal of 30 GW by 2030, new and existing technology is being utilized in novel ways across all phases of development and operation of wind farms. With progress, challenges are emerging between the technology implementation and environmental research and value is being lost.
