Alex is PhD Candidate in Chemical & Biological Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His research focuses on the genetic design, recombinant production, and characterization of silk-inspired proteins produced in a variety of microorganisms. Alex is also the founder and CEO of Ripely, a company that is built upon his graduate research and is developing innovative solutions that address food waste.
In 2021, he was selected as a Top 5 Innovator Under 25 by the Inno Under 25/Albany Business Review.
His favorite free time activities include lifting weights, playing Texas hold ’em, and learning about nutritional biochemistry and human physiology.
