David Gottfried is Deputy Director of the Center for Advanced Ceramic Technology at Alfred University, one of 15 NYSTAR-funded Centers for Advanced Technology located at research universities across the state. CACT supports applied research in technical ceramics and glass materials, linking industry with Alfred University technical resources, faculty, staff, and students.
Gottfried joined Alfred in 2016 after serving 12 years in multiple roles at what was SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s Smart System Technology & Commercialization Center of Excellence, a 6″ silicon wafer fab focused on MEMS development and prototyping located near Rochester, NY. He is a 1999 graduate of the University of Rochester, holding a meaningful degree in Philosophy.
