Amir Mokhtare is the founder and CTO of IVSonance, an Ithaca-based startup working to automate assisted reproduction. His company is built on a technology he invented while earning his PhD at Cornell University, which uses sound waves to gently and precisely handle individual cells. In 2023, Amir was awarded an Ignite Fellowship and the Life Science Technology Innovation Fellowship, which provided key support and training to launch his company. Outside the lab, Amir enjoys playing the Tar, a traditional Iranian instrument, doing intricate inlay craftmanship and exploring new hiking trails.
