Biography

Kate C. MacNamara, PhD, Professor at Albany Medical College, directs a research program at the intersection of immunology, inflammation, aging, and blood-cell development. A key focus is on understanding how inflammation disrupts blood cell production and developing new strategies to harness natural mechanisms for resolving inflammation. She co-founded Resolvia Biosciences to advance novel therapies that target unresolved autoimmune inflammation and move beyond conventional immunosuppressants that are often associated with toxicity. Her work brings together fundamental immunology, translational research, and therapeutic discovery, with the goal of translating these discoveries into new approaches for treating serious diseases.
