Marco Aimi is Director of Research Operations for GE Vernova’s Advanced Research Center, a 500-person global organization headquartered in Niskayuna, NY. In this role, he heads EHS, research operations, security, digital technology and facilities, and led the build-out of the recently launched Frontier Campus, a more than $110 million investment by GE Vernova with support from the State of New York that has brought 75 new research positions to New York’s Capital Region. Marco’s career at GE spans two decades, beginning as a materials scientist and later serving as Innovation Leader for the Advanced Electronics team before stepping into his current role in 2023. A Vermont native, Marco has called New York home for the past 20 years, earning his undergraduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY before completing his PhD at UC Santa Barbara.
